50 years of the ICC, 50 years of capitalist convulsions

Our organisation, the International Communist Current, was founded in January 1975, just over half a century ago. To mark this occasion, we have published a new Manifesto (Capitalism threatens humanity: World revolution is the only realistic solution), which analyses the historic background to the re-emergence of the international communist left in the late 60s, but also the profound upheavals which have taken place since then, and which clearly demonstrate that the capitalist mode of production is threatening the very survival of humanity with a catastrophic whirlwind of war, ecological collapse, and economic and political crises. But the Manifesto also argues that the capacity of the world working class to defend its own interests and, in the longer term, to overthrow this rotting system, is still intact.

This international public meeting is being called to discuss the analysis of the state of the world put forward in the Manifesto. But this document also insists on the historic responsibility of the revolutionary organisations of the proletariat, on their indispensable role in the maturation of the subjective conditions for the future proletarian revolution. 

The presentation to the meeting will be delivered in English, but we will also ensure the translation of this and all other contributions into several other languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, and possibly others).
