Impact of Iran war

The war in the Middle East plunges the capitalist economy into chaos [3]

The crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz  reveals the historical impasse into which capitalism is dragging all of humanity. The war that has been raging in the Middle East since February 2026 is part of a dynamic of accelerated collapse of the global capitalist order, a dynamic in which every manifestation of the decomposition of the capitalist system (uncontrollable wars, environmental crises, populism, etc.) has repercussions on all other fronts, including the economic sphere.

Strikes in Britain

Workers continue to fight, despite the obstacles raised by trade unions and decomposing capitalism [4]

Current struggles of the working class  in Britain are primarily driven by a profound fall in purchasing power (inflation devaluing wages) plus an increase in the rate of exploitation (fewer workers taking on more responsibilities and tasks over longer hours). Despite their modest size and impact on national life, they are still in continuity with the much larger-scale movements of the class in Great Britain in the summer of 2022 and the winter 2023, which reverberated around the globe.

Public Meeting

The war in Spain 1936-39: fascism and anti-fascism mobilise the proletariat for imperialist war [5]

This is an online public meeting in English.

It will be held on Sunday 31 May, 2026, 2pm to 5pm UK time.

90 years ago this July, the military forces led by Franco launched a coup d’Etat against the Spanish Republic. The workers of Barcelona responded with their own methods of struggle: massive strikes and the formation of workers’ militias. But very quickly this proletarian response was dragged onto the bourgeois terrain of defending the Republic against fascism, and the ensuring ‘civil war’ was turned into an inter-imperialist slaughter, a dress rehearsal for the even bigger massacre of World War Two.

USA

"No Kings" demonstrations: the defence of "democratic rights" is a trap for the working class [7]

The working class must refuse to be drawn into defending the democratic state

World economic crisis

The inexorable descent into crisis reveals the historic failure of capitalism [8]

Capitalism has no way out of its economic crisis. Workers have no choice but to resist the attacks on their living standards demanded by the ruling class.

History of the communist left

80 years ago: the founding of the Gauche Communiste de France: Keeping alive the spark of revolutionary organisation (Part II) [9]

Second part of a series explaining the importance of the Gauche Communiste de France, which is a key part of the ICC's historical heritage.

Facing war, massacres, exploitation, poverty...

How can we change the world? [10]

Everywhere, in every country, the bourgeoisie calls for sacrifices, and offers ‘peace’ and ‘democracy’ as part of the mobilisation for war. Only workers' struggle offers an alternative.

Public meetings

Should revolutionaries put forward the slogan of ‘revolutionary defeatism’? [11]

Groups of the proletarian political milieu are putting forward different analyses and positions to orientate workers’ struggle, particularly in the face of imperialist war.
