26th ICC Congress

Resolution on the international situation (May 2025) [4]

This resolution was adopted in early May 2025 by the 26th Congress of the ICC. As such, it can only take into account events and situations prior to that date. This is obviously the case for any position on the international situation, but in the present case it is particularly important to note this because we are currently witnessing a rapid succession of particularly spectacular and unpredictable events of major importance on the three main levels: imperialist tensions, the economic situation of global capitalism and the balance of forces between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie.

Decomposition of society

Blackout in the Iberian Peninsula illuminates the failure of capitalism [5]

Looking beyond the technical reasons for the historic context behind this phenomenon.

ICC international public meetings

The historical significance of the divorce between the USA and Europe [6]

A report on the online public meeting of April 28 focused on developments in the international situation, which are particularly serious and complex.

Consequences of the US/Europe divorce

Labour remains a party of war [7]

Should we be surprised by the intensification of war preparations by the Labour Party? No, we should not: since the First World War, this party has a long history of supporting and waging imperialist war.

War ideology

VE Day parades: Not our victory! [8]

The celebrations of VE Day are part of a wider campaign aiming to prepare us for new imperialist wars

“Popular revolts” in South Korea, Turkey and Serbia

Workers must not let themselves to be drawn into demonstrations for the defence of democracy [9]

Recent demonstrations in South Korea, Serbia, Turkey and elsewhere are a sign of political and social crises but it is important to analyse the real political source of these movements.

Tariff wars

Capitalism has no solution to the global economic crisis! [10]

Trump's self-defeating economic policies are a product of the complete dead-end of world capitalism.

Class movements around the world

Argentina: the struggle of pensioners is our struggle [11]

The struggle of retired workers to resist the permanent attacks on their living conditions unleashed by the bourgeois state in the context of the global economic crisis and austerity policies.

Belgium

The working class under pressure from the economic crisis and militarism [12]

A trade union offensive aims to fragment workers struggles, with new attacks on the horizon.

Anti-Trump campaigns

The bourgeoisie is trying to lure the working class into the trap of anti-fascism [13]

The deafening campaign around Trump’s ‘crazy decisions’ and ‘authoritarianism’ is a classic strategy of the bourgeoisie to make people believe that chaos, destruction and massacres are the fault of ‘irresponsible’ or ‘delusional’ individuals (Trump or Putin today; Hitler, Mussolini or Stalin yesterday...) and not the expression of the historical bankruptcy of the capitalist system.

Imperialist war and the class struggle

What policy for the working class faced with the increasing danger of war? [14]

The obstacles facing the search for clarity on how to fight capitalism's wars

Transatlantic divorce, Trump's abandonment of Ukraine and rapprochement with Russia

The upheaval in alliances is exacerbating the war of each against all [15]

The split between the US and Europe is not just a product of Trump's whims, but the culmination of a historical process unfolding since the collapse of the Russian bloc in the early 90s.
