New articles in Portugues and Farsi [1]
For our Portuguese- and Farsi-speaking readers, we announce the publication of new articles on our site in both languages, which have also been converted to the new format. We are announcing this update in other languages, for two reasons:
- Firstly, because our Portuguese and Farsi sites have seen little new content published since their creation, and our readers may not therefore have the habit of visiting them regularly. This is normal enough, since the ICC does not yet have sections in countries where these languages are spoken. We hope to be able to publish in both languages more frequently in the future.
- Secondly, because we want to thank the comrades - contacts more or less close to our organisation - in Holland, France, Portugal and Brazil who have either helped us or undertaken these translations on their own initiative, and so made these texts available in other languages.
We want particularly to emphasise this second point. Translation is a difficult, time-consuming task, and one which can sometimes seem thankless. But for the proletariat, the only truly international class, the development of its consciousness of itself as a worldwide revolutionary class depends on the ability for workers to understand each other and to debate, no matter what their language. The obscure work of the translator is a vital element in the development of proletarian consciousness.
The comrades who have helped us with these translations are not necessarily all in complete agreement with our positions. But like us, they are convinced that the proletariat is international or it is nothing, and that the propagation of the positions and analyses of the communist left is a fundamental task.
To conclude, the sites in Portuguese and Farsi are still under construction - we hope to improve them in the months to come.
