OK, someone please explain

OK, someone please explain the opening ceremony to me. Was that the bourgeoisie out there in top hats and tail coats? Were they acutally celebrating the enclosures?

Oh, and leave it to a hamfisted American Republican Presidential candidate to get the British people to finally rally around the games!

And yes, only Mitt Romney could seem like an out-of-touch rich person in a country that still has a Queen.

In other news...there was a Tunisian swimmer who refused to compete in the same pool as an Israeli fighter pilot and was subsequently forced to forfeit. He said it was a protest against Israeli airstrikes which have left thousands of civilians dead. Courageous... to say the least
