Interesting take, but I am

Interesting take, but I am concerned that this article is a bit incongruent with the article on "Brexit, Trump, Populism." That article had much more sympathy for those that fall under the sway of such ideologies--seeing them as victims themselves, whereas this one does a fair bit of denouncing them as "xenophobes," and "racists," consumed with "obsessive hatred," etc. I fear we are getting drawn into the terms of the very bourgeois false debate the article itself denounces. But maybe rather than this debate being some kind of ploy "sowing confusion," the current situation is so troubling, precisely because it really is confusing and the old conceptual dichotomies we have been using to understand the world don't work as well anymore?
