at the crossroads

As the article says: capitalism has developed the means to destroy all human life on the planet. And it goes on to point out, citing the civil strife in Egypt, and also the wars in Syria and elsewhere, and the overall chaos and disintegration of the bourgeoisie,  it appears that we are at a  "crossroads" in our human history.

I very much sympathize with and echo this feeling of  being at the crossroads, and a sense of make or break everywhere,  and of history looming  menacingly over the bourgeoisie's dying society.  Dying indeed: but still the most god-awful threat to us all. It reminds me of that most  terrifying ancient sculpture called LAOCOON, where a writhing and giant snake is trying violently to crush to death an old man and  his sons who struggle in anguish. Is this not capitalism now?  Are we not all anguished?

So what are the crossroads?  One is the low road of the bourgeoisie heading straight to misery and destruction.  The other is the highway of evolution, the building of communism, and the emergence of a real human society after the revolution.  The choice is plain and simple.  When will everyone finally admit it, and do it?  We can save each other yet!
