I agree that the ideology
I agree that the ideology that the killer subscribes to is fairly prevalent in one of its multifaceted guises or another.
Despite the material reality of globalisation and greater levels of immigration, the opiate of nationalism/racism/religion, even if incoherent, remains firmly intact, a kind of anti-intelligence, blinkers to keep the working class passive before a material reality which has little use for such concepts apart from blinding the working class.
However, I dont really see this as a new penomenon, it's business as usual, the domination of bourgeois ideology can only be challenged on a general scale by an acute revolutionary struggle.

Certainly crazed fascist conspiracy theories and their practical, murderous results are not new. The question is whether or not we are now living through the terminal phase of the whole decline, an even more advanced stage of rottenness than even the Nazis expressed.
